Every day people seek help from a doctor when sick, a tutor when they struggle to learn, or a tour guide when visiting a new place. Seeking guidance and support from a therapist is nothing to be ashamed of. At BMHM we know that every Black person deserves to feel comfortable, seen and heard - especially those who suffer silently without access to the right kind of help. You may be interested in therapy because you’re in or escaping a toxic relationship, you’ve lost a loved one, you’ve experienced a racially charged incident at work or with the police, or you’re burnt out from dependent care. The reasons you may be suffering are endless. But whatever your motivation, we have patient-centered, licensed psychotherapists who are here to help you.
Review our therapist profiles and decide which one you're interested in working with.

"Congratulations! You have made one of the most important decisions for your well-being."
My personal message to you:
Congratulations! You have made one of the most important decisions for your well-being. Seeking therapy can be challenging and overwhelming. As a Black therapist I understand the shame, negative stigma and connotations that comes with seeking therapy. I assure you; you have made the right choice.
I don’t believe in one size fits all therapy model. I practice a person-centred approach, because each client is unique.
I believe the body mind and spirit are connected. That’s why I practice holistic therapy using an integrative approach that focuses on the relationship between mind, body, and spirit. Through this framework we delve into understanding and addressing how an issue in one area of your life, can impact others. This approach helps my clients become better attuned to their entire awareness and promotes greater self acceptance.
As a therapist, I am not committed to a singular therapeutic approach. Instead, I blend elements from different models and modify treatment according to each client’s needs. I am partial however, to the principles of Cognitive Behavioural therapy. When working with feelings of depression, this model establishes the importance of identifying the thoughts and actions that influence mood.
